Bill Losey, CFP®, America’s Retirement Strategist®*, is an investment advisor, retirement authority, thought-leader, author and media personality, but it wasn’t always that way.
Decades ago he was unemployed, underemployed, upside down on his mortgage, financially illiterate and riddled with thousands and thousands of dollars in credit card debt. That debt and despair led him to the world of personal finance where he began studying, learning, and digging himself out of the hole he had dug himself into.
Bill now has nearly 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and is a successful Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and a RSP-Certified Retirement Coach. He is the owner of Bill Losey Retirement Solutions, LLC, and an independent fee-only registered investment advisory firm that serves a growing nationwide clientele.
Bill caters his investment management, financial advice, and retirement consulting services to women and couples who seek to reduce pre and post-retirement risk and generate a predictable, sustainable, increasing stream of income they won’t outlive.
Bill is the author of Retire in a Weekend!® – The Baby Boomer’s Guide to Making Work Optional (a 2008 Finalist at The Indie Excellence Book Awards), and he publishes Retirement Intelligence®, a free weekly award-winning newsletter that reaches thousands of subscribers worldwide.
As a qualified professional in the areas of investment management, retirement strategies, and personal finance, Bill has been seen and heard around the country on hundreds of TV, radio stations, and media outlets such as AARP, ABC News, Business Week, CBS Evening News, CNBC, CNN Radio, FOX News, NPR, Oprah & Friends, TIME, USA Today and U.S. News & World Report.
In his leisure time, Billy, as his close friends and family call him, loves to mountain bike, hike, kayak, swim and sing. He is an accomplished vocalist and has performed the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden, the Pepsi Arena and other sporting venues. Currently Bill is the lead singer in a vocal duo called The New York Lounge Lizards. He gigs out regularly in upstate New York.
Active in his community, Bill has coached youth soccer and basketball, and has volunteered to help raise money for the Special Olympics, March of Dimes, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation and the American Heart Association. Additionally, he has volunteered his time to advise individuals at the Financial Planning Clinic sponsored annually by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc.
Bill is a graduate of Westchester Community College and Marist College, and obtained his certification in financial planning from The College for Financial Planning in Denver.
He has been married for 26 years to his wife Tori. Together they have three sons.
